Kiev. June 14. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-Germany's decision not to export weapons to Ukraine is weak from a political and moral point of view, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"I appreciate everything that Germany and personally my friend Heiko Maas have done for Ukraine. However, I regard the decision not in favor of the supply of weapons as weak from a political and moral point of view. To a certain extent, I am glad that now a discussion on this issue has begun in Germany, and the topic will be looked at from a fresh angle, " Kuleba said in an interview with Die Welt.
The minister noted that at all the negotiations on this topic in Berlin, he did not hear a single convincing argument why Germany could not supply Ukraine with weapons.
"Indeed, there is a norm that Germany does not export weapons to conflict zones. But if we are talking about a country that has been attacked by another country, then export is still possible. Therefore, we are talking about a purely political solution. I have to respect this decision, because Germany is a sovereign state, but I don't understand it," Kuleba added.
