The US and its allies are withdrawing from Afghanistan. Yesterday, June 13, portal military.com published some data on the longest military conflict in the history of the United States.
The eighteen-year presence cost the United States $2.26 trillion. The casualties include 2,442 American service members and 1,144 Allied service members.

Afghan casualties are estimated at more than 47,000 civilians, up to 69,000 members of the national armed forces and police, and more than 51,000 opposition fighters.
"Afghanistan has come a long way both in terms of building strong and capable security forces, and in terms of social and economic progress. At some stage, the Afghans must take full responsibility for peace and stability in their country, " NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
