Moscow. June 8. INTERFAX-A number of issues for the Russia-US summit are in an advanced stage of preparation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Tuesday.
"We are preparing for the summit very thoroughly. A number of issues are at an advanced stage of development, not all of them are closed, of course, I will not talk about the results, it is premature, " he told reporters, speaking in the State Duma.
"As an agency, we focus on those subjects where, hopefully, we will be able to move forward and record some progress. In the foreground here, I would highlight, of course, the topic of strategic stability. We cannot continue to hold a pause in this area, we need to finally move in a structured, systematic, regular way towards a better understanding of what is possible, what is impossible," Ryabkov continued.
He stressed that Washington's failure to break the Open Skies Treaty "does not set up a positive mood," but Moscow will continue its efforts.
