The Russian Defense Ministry has invited the NATO leadership for a frank, honest and professional dialogue to the IX Moscow Security Conference, which will be held from June 22 to 24.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin.
He noted that the forum in Moscow traditionally invites not only partners who share the approaches of the Russian Federation to solving the main world problems, but also opponents and countries with which cooperation is currently minimal or zero. The heads of defense departments of 119 states received invitations from the Russian military department.
"And these are the countries of all regions of the world — the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, Latin America, Europe, including the EU members and the NATO leadership," Fomin said on RT.
He stressed that the Russian Defense Ministry invited everyone, without making " any exceptions for political reasons."
"And to come to the conference or not-the right remains for each specific country, for each specific participant," he added.
"As always, in June we are waiting for the conference of the heads of the UN, OSCE, CSTO, SCO, CIS, the League of Arab States, ASEAN, the African Union, the International Committee of the Red Cross," the Deputy Minister continued.
