MOSCOW, June 3-RIA Novosti. A new cold war is beginning in the world and the doctrinal definition of opponents is already underway, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin believes.
In his opinion, there are now several trends in the world that cause the most serious challenges and threats to security.
"First, today we are witnessing the formation of a new world order. We see a tendency to draw countries into a new cold war, the division of states into "their" and "others", despite the fact that" others" are clearly defined in the doctrinal documents as the enemy, " Fomin said in an interview with RT.
At the same time, the existing system of international relations and the security architecture are systematically destroyed, and the role of international organizations is being belittled.
Instead of international law, an order is imposed " based on certain rules, proposed and supported by no one knows who, not spelled out anywhere, and only those who, in fact, came up with this order," the deputy minister added.
At the same time, there are fundamentally new types of weapons that radically change the balance of power, armed confrontation penetrates into all new areas — space and cyberspace. All this leads to a change in the principles and methods of warfare, Fomin stressed.
According to him, all these topics will be discussed at the IX Moscow Conference on International Security, which will be held in Moscow from June 22 to 24.
