ST. PERERBURG, June 3. /TASS/. A fundamentally new spacecraft, being developed under the Sphere program, will be created by the end of 2022. This was announced to journalists on Thursday on the sidelines of SPIEF-2021 by the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
"This year, we must implement the first investments that we are investing in the Sphere - 7 billion rubles for the creation of fundamentally new technologies that will allow us to show a completely new spacecraft at the end of 2022. Not the ones that we did before, large, large platforms, namely small devices that can be mass-reproduced, " he said.
The head of Roscosmos stressed that the demonstration of a real satellite will be "the best example for investors to invest in the development of orbiters."
He also noted that now the possibility of entering into the capital of Roscosmos enterprises of individual private companies that will co-invest in the development of the group is being considered.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the Sphere satellite system in 2018. In addition to communication subsystems, the "Sphere" will include Earth remote sensing devices. In total, the system will have about 380 devices.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, organized by the Roscongress Foundation, takes place from 2 to 5 June. The theme of the forum this year: "Together again.
