Moscow. June 3. INTERFAX - One of the most important tasks of the Security Council of the Russian Federation is to develop measures to counteract the policies of Western countries that threaten Russia, said the press secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Anoshin.
"The Security Council of the Russian Federation attaches paramount importance to the development of interdepartmental measures aimed at neutralizing new challenges and threats to national security related to international extremism and terrorism, organized crime, as well as the policies of a number of Western countries aimed at undermining the unity and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation, destabilizing the socio-political situation in the country, including using the technologies of" color revolutions","Anoshin told Interfax.
According to him, in the field of view of the Security Council of the Russian Federation are constantly issues of preparation for the armed defense of Russia. "Based on the assessment of military dangers and military threats to the interests of Russia and its allies, the key provisions of military policy and military-economic support for the defense of the state are formulated," the press secretary of the Russian Security Council said.
He noted that among the priorities are also issues of countering international terrorism, " including taking into account the negative development of the situation in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya and the threats emanating from the Afghan-Pakistani zone of instability."
On June 3, the Security Council of the Russian Federation turns 29 years old.
"The activities of the Security Council over the past 29 years have allowed us to combine the efforts of federal executive bodies, state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, civil society, scientific and expert organizations to implement the course set by the President of Russia in the field of foreign and domestic policy, as well as to address the priority tasks of ensuring national security and sustainable socio-economic development of the country," Anoshin said.
According to him, due to the coordinating actions of the Security Council, the effectiveness of the efforts of state authorities in the areas of combating organized crime, corruption, drug threat, as well as in the implementation of migration policy has increased.
Established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 3, 1992, the Security Council is a constitutional advisory body that prepares decisions of the President of Russia. The Security Council forecasts, identifies, analyzes and evaluates threats to national security, and then develops measures to neutralize them. It is the Security Council that determines the main directions of the state's foreign and defense policy, military-technical cooperation, and ensuring state, public, information, economic and environmental security.
