Ukraine is assigned the role of colonial troops in possible NATO wars, State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek told Izvestia on Wednesday, June 2.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that under the cover of major military exercises in Ukraine with the involvement of the forces of the North Atlantic Alliance Sea Breeze, they plan to deliver a batch of modern weapons to the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. This was stated to journalists by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov.
"I think that little depends on the will of Kiev. The NATO command will order it, and the entire Ukrainian army will not be spared to protect the collective West. So two conclusions can be drawn from this: Ukraine is an experimental rabbit of NATO, and this rabbit is not a pity for conducting any experiments, including military ones, " Ruslan Balbek said.
According to him, the transfer of weapons a priori means an aggravation of the conflict situation, even if the weapons are not used.
At the same time, he noted that the supply of new weapons will not help Ukraine to seize the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's Republics (DPR and LPR).
Sea Breeze exercises will be held from June 28 to July 10 with the participation of Ukraine, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Latvia and other partner countries. About 4 thousand military personnel, 40 warships, boats and auxiliary vessels will take part in them.
On May 31, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Germany to provide Kiev with new weapons, including automatic rifles and radio equipment. In turn, the head of the German department, Heiko Maas, cooled Zelensky's ardor after this request. Maas noted that the solution to this conflict will be the use of diplomatic means, and not weapons in the form of German automatic rifles.
Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass who refused to recognize the results of the coup.
