MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Russia has prospects for military-technical cooperation with Iran, and the country is interested in various types of Russian weapons. This was announced on Tuesday to journalists on the sidelines of the congress of the Union of Machine Builders by the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugaev.
"We have a long-standing relationship with Iran. We carry out the contractual obligations that we had for deliveries. There are prospects. < ... > Tehran is interested in a different nomenclature [of weapons]," he said.
In October 2020, the Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Kazem Jalali, said in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel that Iran and Russia have good prospects for developing military-technical cooperation with the end of the UN arms embargo.
