Kiev. May 28. INTERFAX-UKRAINE-Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak believes that Ukraine will receive an Action Plan on NATO Membership (MAP) by the end of 2021.
"It is possible to obtain a map on Ukraine's membership in NATO by the end of this year. We have very warm relations with many countries that are already part of the NATO bloc, and with the NATO bloc itself as an institution. We have their support and are in constant communication. And I think that by the end of this year we will definitely reach significant documents, "Podolyak said in an interview with the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
According to him, the restriction of Ukraine's participation in the NATO summit, which is scheduled for June 14 this year, "is due to the situation with the coronavirus, as well as the restriction of participation for technical reasons due to the large number of participants."
"One way or another, all our proposals will certainly be on the table of the summit representatives and will be considered. The entire NATO bloc, all the countries of the Alliance, understand to some extent the Ukrainian position, that is,: what we want, what we are doing and what needs we have in terms of the security situation in the region, " Podolyak said.
