The head of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, Viktor Khrenin, said on Wednesday, May 26, that NATO's activity near the borders of the republic looks like measures of early preparation for military operations.
"Conditions are being created for unconditional military dominance in relation to Belarus. All of the above are nothing more than measures of early preparation for the conduct of military operations. These actions cause us concern and concern, which requires taking retaliatory measures, "BelTA quotes Khrenin as saying.
He stressed that the degree of tension around Belarus is constantly increasing. This, according to him, is of concern to the republic. He said that over the past week, the Belarusian side recorded three demonstrative flights of strategic bomber aircraft of the US Armed Forces in 30 km from the border of Belarus.
"We can assume that in the course of them, the application of missile and bomb attacks on the objects of Belarus is being practiced," the minister concluded.
Earlier, on May 16, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Igor Korol said that NATO countries are developing military infrastructure near the borders of the republic. He stressed that over the past four years, the military infrastructure of the alliance in the neighboring territory has significantly improved.
On April 18, Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Major General Vladimir Archakov said that about 70 military exercises last year were conducted by Poland, Latvia and Lithuania and to this day foreign troops near the Belarusian borders "literally hone their combat skills around the clock."
