The vast majority of commanders of formations and regiments of the Russian Armed Forces have passed through Syria and rely on this combat experience when training units and divisions. This was stated on Tuesday by Russian President Vladimir Putin, opening a series of defense meetings in Sochi.
He noted a qualitative increase in the level of training of the command staff.
"All the commanders of combined arms and Air Force and air defense units, more than 85% of the commanders of formations and regiments received combat experience in the Syrian Arab Republic and now rely on it during maneuvers, command and staff exercises and training, when training the personnel of units and divisions," the head of state said.
