MOSCOW, May 22 – RIA Novosti. The research and production concern "Techmash "(part of Rostec) has begun testing models of the latest high-precision aviation rocket" Monolith " caliber 122-mm, said RIA Novosti Executive Director of the company Alexander Kochkin.
As Kochkin noted, " upon receiving positive results, the state customer will work out the issue of setting up development work, the timing of its implementation, and sources of funding."
The executive director clarified that it is too early to talk about the timing of the state tests of the Monolith.
The Monolith rocket has a caliber of 122-mm. It is expected that it will have a high accuracy of hitting targets. The rocket is classified as correctable, the correction is made at the final section of the trajectory. Other technical specifications are not subject to disclosure yet.
Mock-up is one of the stages of research and development work, within the framework of which both large-scale and full-size models of the developed weapon model can be created. On these models, as a rule, individual product characteristics, such as aerodynamics, are studied. Functional models can also be created, for example, with an installed homing head and electric circuits for testing both the equipment of the product itself and the interface of the future rocket with the carrier aircraft.
JSC " NPK "Techmash" is managed by the holding company " Technodinamika "of the State Corporation "Rostec".
