Dubai. May 21. INTERFAX-The Israel Defense Forces said that they are still ready to carry out strikes against the leadership of the Hamas movement, despite the ceasefire imposed the day before, the Times of Israel reported on Friday.
It is noted that among the persons on the lists of the Israel Defense Forces for elimination, there is a Hamas commander, Mohammed Deif.
Earlier it was reported that he is the most wanted Israeli target in the Gaza Strip. The previous day, a senior Hamas official, Osama Hamadan, had claimed that Deif was alive and had led joint operations between the militant wing of Hamas - the Izz al-Din al-Qassam brigades - and other Palestinian groups.
On Friday night, a cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian groups from the Gaza Strip came into force. So far, the parties are observing it. Prior to that, for about 11 days, the Israel Defense Forces attacked Gaza in response to rocket launches from there.
