In the third reading, the plenary session of the State Duma considered and adopted the draft laws "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation" and "On Amendments to Article 51 of the Federal Law "On Military Duty and Military Service".
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov: "The draft law" On Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation", considered in the third reading, is aimed at forming the legal framework for the functioning of the system of service maintenance of weapons and military equipment. Its adoption as a whole will provide our Armed Forces with the opportunity to maintain the proper readiness of high-tech weapons and military equipment for combat use.
The second draft law " On Amendments to Article 51 of the Federal Law "On Military Duty and Military Service" is aimed at improving the effectiveness of medical examinations of citizens. I will explain that if a citizen has a reason for deferring from conscription for military service that is not related to his state of health, or the right to be released from conscription for military service, he is no longer required to undergo a medical examination. Now the passage of a medical examination for such citizens is declarative in nature."
