Moscow. May 19. INTERFAX-The situation almost along the entire perimeter of the borders of the CSTO member states remains tense, said Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
"Unfortunately, there are no positive changes in the sphere of global security. The situation almost along the entire perimeter of the borders of the CSTO member states remains tense. The buildup of the military presence and military activity of NATO countries near the borders of the Eastern European zone of responsibility of our Organization is being more actively involved, " Zas said on Wednesday following a meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe.
His statements are given in the message of the CSTO secretariat.
Speaking about the Caucasus region of the CSTO collective security, Zas noted that " the introduction of the Russian peacekeeping contingent into the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and the continuation of the negotiation process have significantly improved the situation."
