Moscow. May 19. INTERFAX-Russia will not leave unanswered the expulsion of its diplomatic staff and unsubstantiated accusations from unfriendly countries, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Vakhrukov said in an interview with Interfax.
"If someone tries to ignore our national interests, unproven accuses us of something, expels our ambassadors-such countries will be considered unfriendly states, and we will respond to such actions, thereby ensuring the security of Russia," Vakhrukov said.
According to him, Russia "will pursue a policy that takes into account the strengthening of international security and the protection of its national interests."
At the same time, the Russian Federation "stands for strategic stability, for building equal cooperation in accordance with the norms of international law," the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation stressed.
As reported by Interfax, the decree of the government of the Russian Federation approving the list of foreign states that commit unfriendly actions against Russia was published on the official portal of legal information on May 14. The list of such countries includes the United States and the Czech Republic.
The document, in particular, determines the number of individuals who are located on the territory of the Russian Federation and with whom diplomatic missions and consular offices can conclude employment contracts. According to it, the US Embassy no longer has such a right. The Czech Embassy will retain the right to conclude employment contracts with 19 citizens.
