"The degradation of the system of strategic stability and arms control is of concern. Terrorism is once again rearing its head, and the problems associated with international information security are getting worse. Drug trafficking and organized crime continue to pose high risks, " Putin said in a speech to foreign ambassadors on Tuesday.
Long-standing regional conflicts are escalating in Afghanistan, Libya, and the Middle East, and Russia is anxiously monitoring the situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin added.
"The long-standing regional conflicts in Afghanistan and Libya are escalating. Literally in the last few days. Russia is well aware of this and is following the situation with concern. We have witnessed a sharp escalation in the Middle East, " he said, speaking to foreign ambassadors.
