In his opinion, this is due to the lack of ideology
As part of his speech at the forum "Youth and Science" in Nizhny Novgorod, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeev criticized the level of knowledge of graduates of Russian universities. This is reported by the press service of the Lobachevsky National Research University.
According to the academician, the quality of students leaving universities is falling, including due to the consequences of the crisis of the 90s and 2000s, as well as due to the level of school education.
— We witnessed a drop in the graduate level and attributed it to the obvious cause of the disorder that was in the country. But nevertheless, the challenge is how we can improve the quality of the student. But when such a claim is made to universities, <... > then universities nod at schools: "And who comes from school? Such that, I'm sorry, we need to learn the multiplication table, " Sergeyev told the participants and guests of the forum.
The president of the Russian Academy of Sciences also clarified that one of the most serious problems of modern school education is the lack of an ideology that "should be based on the values that unite" the inhabitants of the country. The second problem is the prestige of the teaching profession, which must be raised with the support of universities and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
— I believe that the task of supporting young people, starting from school, is one of the main tasks of the members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, " the President concluded.
The Russian Forum "Youth and Science" is held in Nizhny Novgorod from May 15 to 17 at the Lobachevsky National University of Science and Technology and is one of the main events of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. Gleb Nikitin, Sergey Kiriyenko and other regional and federal leaders have already spoken at the event, as well as many speakers in various scientific fields from all over the country. The main topic is the contribution of young scientists to modern university science.
Recall that in 2020, we wrote that Nizhny Novgorod students are going to increase scholarships five times . Pleasant changes have affected both schoolchildren and even graduate students.
