Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has criticized his American counterpart Joe Biden for selling $735 million worth of precision weapons to Israel. He said this on May 17 during a press conference in Ankara, broadcast on the politician's Twitter.
According to the Turkish leader, Biden writes " history with his bloody hands." "You forced us to say this,"he said.
As the Turkish president added, in the current circumstances, the management of Jerusalem by a commission of representatives of three religions will be the most correct way.
Earlier on Monday, it became known that amid the aggravation of the situation in the Gaza Strip, Israel and the United States signed a deal for the supply of American weapons. The deal focuses on Israel's acquisition of precision-guided missiles and special ammunition from the United States.
According to the Israeli Armed Forces, since May 10, 3,150 rockets have been fired from the Gaza Strip, of which about 460 fell in the enclave itself. At the same time, the military clarified that the Iron Dome air defense system intercepts about 90% of the shells.
In addition, on the same day, the Israeli army attacked the tunnel system of the ruling Hamas Islamist movement in the Gaza Strip, 15 km of underground structures in the north of the enclave were hit.
The escalation of the conflict between Palestine and Israel occurred in early May. Then the Israeli authorities began to evict several Arab families in East Jerusalem, which provoked riots and protests by Palestinians. On May 10, the radical group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, intervened in the situation.
