TSAMTO, May 17. Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to sign an agreement with Tajikistan on the creation of a unified regional air defense system.
As stated in the order published on the official Internet portal of legal information, "to accept the proposal of the Government of the Russian Federation to sign an agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on the creation of a joint regional air defense system of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. To instruct the Russian Defense Ministry to hold negotiations with the Tajik side with the participation of the Russian Foreign Ministry and, upon reaching an agreement, to sign this agreement on behalf of the Russian Federation, allowing to make changes to its draft approved by the Russian government that are not of a fundamental nature."
As RIA Novosti notes, according to the text of the agreement, the coordination of joint actions of the troops of the Joint Regional Air Defense System of Russia and Tajikistan will be carried out by the commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The general management of the forces allocated to the regional air defense system will be carried out by the commander of the Central Air Defense Forces, and the management of joint actions of the troops within the borders of a separate collective security area will be carried out by the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan. The Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period, but each of the parties has the right to terminate it at any time by sending a written notice to the partner in advance. After the expiration of six months, the agreement is terminated.
