Jerusalem. May 16. INTERFAX-The Israeli authorities have handed over to the United States intelligence proving the validity of the strike on a building in Gaza, where foreign media were based, writes the Jerusalem Post, citing sources close to the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
"We showed them clear evidence that Hamas was operating in that building," the source said.
"I understand that the US found the explanations convincing," he added.
The Israeli Air Force on Saturday struck a building that housed the offices of local and international media in the Gaza Strip, with journalists leaving the building before the attack.
The Israel Defense Forces said that the building was used by the Hamas intelligence headquarters, using the media offices and journalists working there as a cover.
The media offices were located in a 15-story building in Gaza. It also housed apartments and offices of various companies.
