Tbilisi. May 13. INTERFAX-Georgian and US military personnel conducted joint exercises within the framework of the Trojan Footprint-21 multinational Special Operations Forces (SDF) exercises that have been taking place on the territory of five countries since May 3, the press service of the Georgian Ministry of Defense reported on Thursday.
According to the ministry, Georgia is participating in these exercises for the first time, in which this year the military personnel of 10 countries (USA, Georgia, Bulgaria, Germany, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, Great Britain) are involved.
According to the press service, one unit of the Georgian special operations forces is taking part in the exercises in Romania, and some military personnel are being trained in Georgia together with the US military.
In the exercises that took place in Georgia, the Georgian and American military performed rapid response tasks, worked out actions for conducting an ambush, taking a building by storm, and conducting a raid.
The report says that the Trojan Footprint exercises, which are held on the territories of Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia, will end on May 14.
