On May 12, Germany and Poland signed a technical agreement on cooperation between the air forces of the two countries when crossing their air borders when performing NATO Air Policing missions.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Defense Ministers by the head of the Air Operations Control Center of the German Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Klaus Habersetzer, and the commander of the Operational Command of the Polish Army, General Broni Tomasz Piotrowski.
The signed document regulates the issue of interaction between the forces and means of the air forces of the two countries that are on combat duty, in the interests of the continuity of the "air police" missions when it is necessary to cross the Polish-German border in the airspace. It is reported that the clarification of the terms of cooperation in this area will contribute to improving the effectiveness of the protection of the airspace of NATO member states.
