The Russian military conducted a patrol in the Syrian city of Nubol. The patrol route was 15 km. Their task was to inspect the area and take tough measures in case of detection of armed militants.
The population of Nubol is several thousand people. At one of the stops, the military treated Syrian children to cookies brought from Russia. Now the city lives a normal life: during the day there is an active trade in the markets, in the evening after sunset in Ramadan — a delicious dinner.
The final point of the route was the village of Zouk el-Kabir, where there is a huge park of ancient ruins in the open air. Around it are 700 abandoned buildings from Roman and Byzantine times. A road leads to the ruins, with a rampart and sandbags piled on one side. Behind the rampart there are militants of illegal formations.
On May 12, it was reported that the Syrian military, with the support of the Russian Aerospace Forces, destroyed 338 terrorists on the territory of the SAR. According to the representative of the Russian group of troops in Syria, since April 23, thanks to joint efforts in the SAR, 338 militants of terrorist groups have been eliminated and 44 detained.
