Groups in the Gaza Strip have been firing rockets at Israel non-stop for 10 hours. This was announced on May 11 by the press service of the Israeli army on Twitter.
"Since 18:00 (coincides with Moscow time), terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip have been launching rockets against the civilian population in Israel. Without stopping. It's 04:00. This is already 10 hours of rocket attacks, " the statement said.
On May 10, the press service of the Israeli military said that the Israeli army launched a wave of strikes in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks by Palestinian radicals. More than 150 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. Dozens of them were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
The strikes were carried out after the radical group Hamas fired several rockets at Israel after the expiration of an ultimatum demanding that Israel withdraw its military and police from the territory of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
The EU called on the parties to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to stop the violence in the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, and called the rocket attacks on the Israeli civilian population unacceptable.
Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police officers are taking place in East Jerusalem with the onset of Ramadan, which in 2021 in most Muslim countries began on April 13 and will last 30 days.
