Equipment that cannot be repaired or for some other reason transferred to the Afghan army or sent to the United States is destroyed so that it does not fall into the hands of militants operating in the country. According to the US military, more than 1.3 thousand pieces of equipment have been destroyed so far.

The official representative of the US Department of Defense, John Kirby, said on May 3 that the process of withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan will go smoothly.
