Erdogan also promised to "protect the honor of Jerusalem" in connection with the current situation.
Riots in the Old City area of Jerusalem have been going on for several days. The Palestinian unrest began against the backdrop of an Israeli court decision to evict several Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.
The press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported on Twitter that on Monday, Hamas militants launched three rockets into Israeli territory. In response to the launching of explosive balloons and rocket launches on Israeli territory, Israeli army tanks opened fire on Hamas targets.
Earlier, the Times of Israel reported that Hamas, in connection with the recent events in Israel, issued an ultimatum to the Israeli authorities, demanding that the Temple Mount and the Sheikh Jarrah quarter in Jerusalem be cleared of security forces by 18:00.
