Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. April 29. INTERFAX-The tension on the Russian-Ukrainian border still persists, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"The fact that the tension has been quite high and that it remains above the norm is obvious," Peskov said on the Big Game program on Channel One on Thursday, when asked how close Russia "has been to war with Ukraine in recent days."
He also said that " the provocative actions of the armed forces of Ukraine on the line of demarcation were indeed very frequent, daily and led to human casualties."
"Naturally, these provocative actions provoked responses from the self-proclaimed republics," the presidential press secretary explained.
"It is also obvious that the statements of the United States in support of Kiev, and the actions of the United States - we remember the repeated sending of cargo military aircraft that brought weapons to Ukraine, the transfer of funds with a direct explanation that this is to strengthen the defense potential of Ukraine, of course, this is all in the hands of the very armed forces of Ukraine, which took a provocative position," Peskov said.
"The question is-how much does President Zelensky control these armed forces of Ukraine? And to what extent is President Zelensky free from the influence and pressure of those people who go to the demonstration in Kiev, if I am not mistaken, in support of the SS brigade "Galicia"?", - he said.
The press secretary of the president stressed that " these people are capable of resuming hostilities again, they do not hide it."
