MOSCOW, 26 Apr-RIA Novosti. A Ukrainian spy who tried to buy spare parts for S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in Russia for 163 thousand dollars was sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony in Kuban, the FSB of Russia reported on Monday.
"The verdict of the Krasnodar Regional Court against the citizen of Ukraine Marchenko A.V. for espionage has entered into legal force. By the court's decision, Marchenko was sentenced to 10 years in prison with time served in a high-security colony, " the release says.
The money allocated by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine for the intelligence campaign was confiscated to the Russian treasury – we are talking about 163 thousand dollars.
As the FSB found out, in May 2018, Marchenko received a task from an employee of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Pyotr Khomenko, to purchase klystrons in Russia - spare parts used in S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The secret products were supposed to be transferred to the Ukrainian special exporter of military equipment-the state company "Ukroboronservice" -through an intermediary company in Macedonia. In April 2019, Marchenko was arrested.
"We have received exhaustive evidence of the involvement of a foreigner in the activities of Ukrainian intelligence aimed at harming the security of the Russian Federation, which were the basis for a court decision," the report adds.
