A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip on the evening of Saturday, April 24, on the territory of Israel was intercepted by the country's air defense system "Iron Dome". This is reported by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
According to the report, after the air raid sirens were triggered in the city of Sderot and the surrounding areas, one rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip, which was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
It is noted that the rocket exploded at the security fence.
On April 23, it became known that three rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip, one of which was intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system. The next day, an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) tank attacked a military position of the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
In response, five more rockets were fired from the enclave into Israel.
In total, the radicals from the Gaza Strip fired 36 rockets at Israeli territory from Friday evening to Saturday morning, the Iron Dome air defense system intercepted six of them, the rest exploded in an unpopulated area. In response, the Israeli army hit a number of Hamas military installations in the Gaza Strip.
On Saturday night, there was the most powerful rocket attack on Israel since February 2020, when about 80 shells were fired at the Jewish state during the day.
