"Against the background of the adoption by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons of a groundless decision to restrict the rights of Syria, the OPCW receives information about the preparation of a provocation by the militants of the [banned in Russia] terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to accuse the Syrian government forces of using chemical weapons in the Idlib de - escalation zone," the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Alexander Karpov, is quoted in the message.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the extremists are delivering toxic substances from the Tel Tun camp to the vicinity of Idlib and the districts of Jisr al-Shughur and Bdam. There is also an increase in the activity of the" White Helmets " near the village of Marj al-Ajahn.
"The terrorists plan to use information about the victims of their provocations to discredit the official government of Syria," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
