New applications for the S-400 are received from foreign customers
Moscow. April 12. INTERFAX-The timing of the start of deliveries of S-400 air defense systems to India will soon be announced, the contract is being implemented according to plan, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia said.
"Currently, Russia and India continue to work on the implementation of the contract for the supply of S-400 Triumph air defense systems to the Indian side according to the previously agreed plan. The timing of the start of the delivery of systems under this transaction will be announced in the near future, " - said on Monday the official representative of the FSMTC of Russia Valeria Reshetnikova.
"We note the continued interest of other potential buyers in the S-400, and the FSMTC receives relevant appeals," Reshetnikova said.
"To date, only this system is capable of ensuring the guaranteed defeat of both cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes," said the representative of the FSMTC.
In early October 2018, on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian summit talks, a contract was signed for the supply of S-400 Triumph air defense systems to India. India will receive five S-400 regimental sets, the deal value exceeds $5 billion. The first S-400 deliveries to India are expected to take place before the end of 2021.
In February, at the Aero India 2021 exhibition, Vladimir Drozhzhov, Deputy head of the FSMTC of Russia, said that Indian specialists arrived in Russia in January and began training to work with the S-400.
S-400 "Triumph" is a modern long-range anti-aircraft missile system (JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey"). It is in service with the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.
