BAIKONUR / Kazakhstan/, April 10. /TASS/. The Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC) is ready for any development of events on the creation of a superheavy launch vehicle, the company's general director Dmitry Baranov told reporters.
"We are ready for any development of events," Baranov said, answering the question of what decision will be made on the rocket.
The Space Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which met in December, recommended that the leadership of the Academy of Sciences and Roscosmos address the President of Russia on the issue of postponing the creation of a super-heavy-class missile system. As specified in the decision, the project should work out the most breakthrough, promising and economically viable technologies.

In December 2020, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, noted that the Russian superheavy rocket should be created on the basis of fundamentally new technical solutions. According to him, this carrier needs a fundamentally new main engine, which allows to achieve "hot backup" and multiple use.
