The Russian crew will be able to fly twice a year on American ships, said the deputy administrator of the department
BAIKONUR / Kazakhstan/, April 9. NASA expects that American astronauts will fly twice a year on the Russian "Soyuz", and the cosmonauts of Roscosmos-twice a year on American ships. This was reported to reporters on Friday by NASA Deputy Administrator Ken Bowersox.
"Of course, I would like to hope that twice a year astronauts will fly on the Soyuz spacecraft, just as Russian cosmonauts will fly twice a year on American ships," said Bowersox.
The deputy administrator of NASA said that such a flight scheme could help in the event that an American or Russian ship for some reason has to leave the ISS earlier than planned. Then the representative of the United States or the Russian Federation, who arrived on another ship, will remain at the station.
