TSAMTO, April 1. On March 29, the Polish company Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow (ZMT) announced the signing of a contract with an unnamed foreign customer for the supply of 100 units of 23-mm ZU-23-2CP anti-aircraft guns.
The sale price was not disclosed. According to the terms of the contract, deliveries must be completed before the end of the calendar year. According to the company, a similar agreement for the supply of 100 anti-aircraft guns was concluded a year ago.
The ZU-23-2CP is a version of the ZU-23 twin anti-aircraft gun developed in the USSR, designed to deal with low-flying air and lightly armored ground / surface targets, enemy manpower. Customers value the system primarily for its reliability, efficiency, and ease of use. Maximum target range-2500 m, altitude - up to 1500 m. The design properties of the installation allow it to be used on lightly armored ground targets and firing points at ranges up to 2000 m. The ZU-23-2CP provides the target with 23-mm armor-piercing incendiary, high-explosive-incendiary tracer (HEI-T), armor-piercing sub-caliber tracer (APDS-T and FAPDS-T) ammunition.
Anti-aircraft systems make up a significant part of Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow's product portfolio. It includes the ZSU-23-4MP "Byala" (the Polish version of the modernization of the ZSU "Shilka"), the ZUR-23-2SP Jodek-SP anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, and the PSR-A "Pilica" short-range anti-aircraft missile and gun system.
