Moscow. March 31. INTERFAX-New recruits will have to part with smartphones, they will only be able to take a push-button phone to the recruiting station, a representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation said.
On April 1, the spring draft starts in Russia. More than 134 thousand people will be called up for military service.
"The guys who come to the draft board, go directly to serve in the Armed Forces, can only have a push - button phone with them," said Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, a representative of the main organizational and mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
"Of course, it seems unthinkable our life without gadgets, however, there are restrictions imposed by a certain closeness of both the department and its facilities," he said in an interview with the TV channel "Russia 24" (VGTRK) on Wednesday.
"The fact is that the military commissariat is a territorial representation of the Ministry of Defense, it is subject to all the restrictions that apply to the objects of the Ministry of Defense," Tsimlyansky said.
