Tesla
According to sources in Reuters and Bloomberg, the command of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) has imposed a ban on the use of Tesla electric vehicles on the territory of military facilities in the country out of fears that they can perform espionage functions.
As you know, the Tesla is equipped with several cameras. One of them provides a 10-minute video recording of what happens in front of the car. And in Sentry mode, everything that happens next to the car is recorded. In addition, the new models-Y and Model 3 are equipped with an internal camera, with which, in theory, it is possible to identify the location of a military object and even record the movement of troops. Tesla left this information without comment. However, as the WSJ reported, the company's management guarantees full compliance of the privacy policy with Chinese laws, which was confirmed by the head of Tesla, Elon Musk, rejecting such accusations. Apparently, China does not believe in the sincerity of the Americans, and there are reasons for this – the draconian sanctions announced by the US authorities against the Chinese electronics giant Huawei and several other companies. It is possible that the story with the ban on Tesla to appear near military facilities is a kind of revenge for the openly hostile behavior of the United States.
