The US coalition confirmed the shelling of a base in Syria in the northern province of Deir ez-Zor, but denied the presence of victims, a spokesman for the coalition said.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the US military relied on intelligence information from the Iraqi side and is confident in the accuracy of the strike. The victims of the strike were at least 17 people. Russia condemned the US strike on Syria and called for respect for the sovereignty of the republic.
