MOSCOW, 17 Mar-RIA Novosti. There were no agreements on holding meetings of the Russia-NATO Council, the main problem is that contacts on the military line have been completely cut off, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, in a report released on Tuesday by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the results of 2020, it was reported that the meeting of the NATO-Russia Council in 2020 did not take place due to the fault of the Russian side.
"The fact is that there were no agreements regarding the holding of such Councils. Any council should be prepared, NATO has abandoned all the preparatory structures, that is, what the Council consisted of – the working group, the preparatory committee and the Council itself at the level of ambassadors. All the elements except the meeting of the ambassadors were destroyed by them, they are no longer functioning, " he said.
