Russia has significantly expanded the range of suppressed electronic means of a potential enemy thanks to the development of the latest electronic warfare systems. According to the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Army General Sergei Shoigu, 19 new models of electronic warfare equipment, including those on air carriers, have now been developed.
He noted that when creating them, the developers took into account the prospects for the development of control systems for troops and weapons of foreign armies. "The delivery of this equipment to the troops allowed us to significantly expand the range of suppressed electronic means of the probable enemy and increase the range of use by 3.5 times," Shoigu stressed.
The Minister said that the Ministry of Defense, together with the scientific and military-industrial complex, has created modern ground-based, air-based and sea-based jamming systems at all levels of control, many of which have no analogues in the world.
Shoigu said that over the past three years, the army has received more than a thousand units of electronic warfare equipment. "Including small-sized interference transmitters that operate completely independently," he added.
The head of the Defense Ministry stressed that the electronic warfare systems and means have already confirmed their high effectiveness in combat conditions. In particular, they performed well in Syria. "And another positive point, which is important to note, is that the increase in the combat capabilities of the EW troops was carried out not by increasing the number of personnel, but by improving the characteristics of the equipment being created and its versatility," the minister said.
