Turkey is in talks to buy the second batch of S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems. The issue of technological cooperation is also being considered.
- The negotiation process continues. And we are almost at the finish line. I do not think that the Turkish side will abandon its intention to purchase the second batch of our S-400 weapons, " Rostec head Sergey Chemezov told RT.
In addition, as the head of the state corporation noted, the contract provides for an option for a certain localization of the production of S-400 components.
- We don't do 100% localization. Even if we wanted to, it is unlikely that Turkey would be able to fully organize the production of such super-high-tech products in its country. To do this, an appropriate school should be created, " Chemezov stressed.
Note that the S-400 medium-and long-range air defense system is capable of intercepting almost all air targets (except for ICBM warheads) within a radius of 400 kilometers. The complex is integrated into the army and military air defense systems, with additional modules, its range increases to 600 kilometers.
