Foreign intelligence services can use terrorists for their own purposes, and special attention should be paid to identifying these contacts.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the FSB board.
"I ask you to pay special attention to the opening of contacts between terrorist groups and foreign special services, "Putin said, noting that"everything is in motion, and terrorists are also being used."
He stressed that the terrorist network in the Russian Federation is trying to restore its activity by any means. "Therefore, it is important not only to identify and eliminate terrorist cells, including the so - called dormant, deeply secretive ones, but also to analyze and predict the situation in general, taking into account that the leaders, ideologists of terrorists are constantly changing their tactics, looking for sources for funding and financial support, using new techniques for propaganda and drawing young people into their ranks," TASS quotes the president.
Putin also demanded to increase the level of anti-terrorist protection of places of mass stay of people, critical facilities, social institutions and, in general, to better coordinate the work of the FSB and other law enforcement agencies under the auspices of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee.
Putin said that in the country "the activities of 72 personnel officers and 423 agents of foreign special services have been suppressed," the president said.
