Moscow. February 24. INTERFAX-Russia is facing an aggressive policy aimed at curbing the country's development and placing it under external control, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We are also faced with the so-called policy of containing Russia. We are not talking here about the competition that is natural for international relations, but rather about a consistent and very aggressive line aimed at disrupting our development, slowing it down, creating problems along the external perimeter, provoking internal instability, and undermining the values that unite Russian society. Ultimately, to weaken Russia and put it under external control, " Putin said, speaking at the board of the FSB of the Russian Federation on Wednesday.
He noted that this scenario has already been implemented in some countries in the post-Soviet space.
"I'm not exaggerating anything here. You do not need to be convinced of this, you know it well. It is enough to get acquainted with the public strategic documents and very frank statements of some statesmen of a number of countries, " the President said.
