Russia debuted in the international arms exhibition IDEX 2021 anti-aircraft missile and gun system (zrpk) "Pantsir-С1М", modified by the enterprises of the holding "Precision complexes" (included in "rostec") at the end of the combat use of the complex against terrorists in Syria, reported the press service of the Corporation. A number of countries are already interested in the new ZRPC.
The upgraded "Pantsir-SM" received a new radar, which provides an increased range of detection of aerodynamic targets-up to 75 kilometers. The range of the complex has been increased to 40 kilometers. Such air defense systems are used to protect the Russian Hmeimim air base in Syria and have repeatedly successfully repelled attacks by self-made militant drones, which, due to their small size and quiet speed, are difficult to hit targets.
"For the first time, the Pantsir-S1M anti-aircraft missile and gun system was demonstrated. This is an export version of the "Shell", which has successfully proved itself in Syria, " the state corporation said.
According to the state corporation, " a number of foreign customers have already shown interest in the ZRPC, and it is expected that interest in it will become even higher at the end of the exhibition."
According to the general director of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, whose words are quoted in the press service, the countries of the Middle East and North Africa are important markets where the Russian Federation supplies armored vehicles, air defense systems and other types of military products. At the same time, Chemezov added, Rostec sees "prospects in the organization of joint development and production of various products - both military and civilian purposes."
