MOSCOW, 18 Feb-RIA Novosti. Russia will take all necessary measures to protect its interests in case of development and adoption of NATO's new strategy, the Alliance demonize Russia, uses the mythical Russian threat to rally their ranks, said RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
On the first day of the conference with the heads of the Ministry of defense, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that NATO's strategic concept of 2010 requires updates as the situation changed, it does not take into account the rise of China and the deterioration of relations with Russia.
He noted that NATO is only going to develop a new strategy. "Judging by the statement of the Secretary General (Stoltenberg), the decision to develop this new strategy instead of the one that was adopted in 2010 should be made by the heads of state and government of NATO members at their summit," the senior Russian diplomat noted.
"It is also obvious that the United States is trying to attract its allies to its line of deterring China through the mechanisms of NATO. This was clearly evident in Brussels, " Grushko added.
