The Russian defense industry is traditionally a leader in many areas. For example, we have no equal in air defense technology. Our fighters, tanks, helicopters, small arms are good.
However, there are positions where we are significantly behind. We have already written many times about the problems with attack drones. There seems to be a positive change now, but there is still a lot to do to catch up with the United States, Israel, and China.
We do not have third-generation anti-tank systems that operate on the principle of "shot-forget". At the same time, it has succeeded not only in Western States, Israel, China, but not even the most advanced militarily, India.

Local developers have managed to bring to mind their "dolgostroy"-a self-propelled ATGM Nag developed since the 90s, which has a homing head that can remember a target and destroy it at a distance of 4000 m without human help.
Moreover, the objects are attacked in the most vulnerable part - the roof. A helicopter version has also been created, already hitting at 8000 m.
Last year, it became known about the development in India of a portable third-generation ATGM Amogha-III, which is an analog of the American Javelin.
It was also reported that Algeria purchased the third-generation Red Arrow-12 ( HJ-12) complexes in China. It is possible that in the coming years, the Chinese will be able to penetrate with such weapons even in the armies of the CIS countries, as has already happened with UAVs. And the old second-generation ATGM will only be acquired by poor countries in Africa.
