Washington. February 10. INTERFAX-A working group is being formed in the structure of the Pentagon, which will develop a strategy for the United States to counter the challenges from China, American President Joe Biden said on Wednesday.
"We need to cope with the growing challenges posed by China, maintain peace and protect our interests in the Indo-Pacific region and on the global stage. Today I was informed about the creation of a working group on China under the Ministry of Defense," he said at a speech at the Pentagon.
The President explained that the group will work on strategy and operational concepts, technological issues and the balance of power in relation to China. He noted that the working group will work quickly, with the involvement of civilian and military specialists, and in the coming months will present recommendations on the Chinese problem to the Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin.
Biden also said that the efforts of the entire American administration, the bipartisan consensus in Congress and international alliances with the participation of the United States will allow us to respond to the challenges from China, and "the American people will win the contest for the future."
