Four Indian soldiers and at least 20 Chinese soldiers were injured in a clash on the Indian-Chinese border in Northern Sikkim, India Today reports, citing sources.
A spokesman for the Indian Armed Forces said that a small clash was settled by officers.
The Chinese newspaper Global Times called the news about the 20 wounded from China disinformation. The Indian army also did not officially confirm the data on the victims from its side.
The tension here arose last year. Since then, Beijing and Delhi have repeatedly accused each other of trying to violate the border and of provocations. The media reported losses on both sides, but the military did not officially confirm this. By the end of last summer, China and India held talks on the withdrawal of troops at the border in order to defuse border tensions, and in September, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe met with his Indian counterpart Rajanth Singh in Moscow. Later, Foreign Ministers Wang Yi and Subramanyam Jaishankar also held talks and agreed to normalize the situation on the border.
