Search research is needed
How will the future work of the Academy of Military Sciences be organized under the new head? General of the Army Valery Gerasimov is a military commander of the strategic level, the initiator and participant of large-scale transformations in the army and navy, who made a decisive contribution to the development of modern military art. It is not surprising that it was he who, by the decision of the presidium of the Academy of Military Sciences, was nominated as a candidate for the post of its president some time ago.
As for the program with which he ran for the post of president of the AVN, as Gerasimov said, the Academy of Military Sciences should become a major all-Russian military scientific center that promotes the solution of priority geopolitical, military-strategic, military-economic and innovative-technological problems in the interests of the country's defense.
The most important tasks of the Academy of Military Sciences should remain the conduct of fundamental, exploratory and applied scientific research on topical issues of military art, military construction and construction of the Armed Forces, military administration, the development of weapons and military equipment, and military history.
In their successful implementation, the role of the AVN Presidium as the headquarters that develops the strategy and carries out operational management of the Academy, as well as the AVN departments that directly conduct research, is very important. It is necessary to increase the importance of regional offices, increase their capabilities and improve interaction with the operational and strategic commands of military districts, military educational institutions, research organizations, and defense industry enterprises.
And yet, this program only defines the vector of priority actions of the president and the Presidium of the AVN, as well as the leadership of scientific and industrial and regional branches. "I am confident that our joint work will produce a system of measures which realization will allow to provide the Armed forces of the Russian Federation advanced scientific knowledge, – said Gerasimov. "I hope for the support of military scientists-members of the Academy of Military Sciences and the entire military-academic community."
"Military-Industrial Courier" congratulates Valery Gerasimov on his election to a responsible post and looks forward to close cooperation in covering the problems of the Armed Forces and the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.
